Commission to dedicate sculpture at Veterans Park in Seymour

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will hold a dedication ceremony of a sculpture at 6 p.m. Saturday at Veteran's Park on Broad Street. 


The recently commissioned sculpture, depicting the history of Seymour, will be presented to the Town by the Culture and Arts Commission. 

The public is invited to attend. 

Light refreshments will be available after the dedication.

E Street Gallery opens in Derby



DERBY - The Valley Arts Council's new and improved E Street Gallery is now open
at 35 Elizabeth St. 

A grand opening will be held at 7 p.m. July 17. Read all about it in my story in the Valley Independent Sentinel.

President Rich DiCarlo said the revamped organization is seeking new members. Join us!

Valley Arts Council sidewalk sale continues today in Derby

There are some great deals to be had on unique pieces of art - paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry - at the Gallery at 37, 37 Elizabeth St. in Derby. The sale will run from noon to 6 p.m. today.


I got a beautiful piece of pottery created by an Oxford artist for just $5 ~ we marked down all of the pottery and jewelry to $5. Priced to sell!

Valley Arts Council holding sidewalk sale Saturday and Sunday in Derby

Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo paints a sign Friday afternoon in a dark Gallery at 37, 37 Elizabeth St., Derby. The nonprofit arts organization that serves the Valley is unable to pay its electric bill, and DiCarlo has organized this weekend's sidewalk sale to raise funds.
Come check out the original artwork, from paintings, photography, and pottery to sculpture and jewelry.

Photos shared from Valley Arts Council's show at gallery in Derby

DERBY - The Valley Arts Council's opening reception Friday night for its "Slice of Life" show was a big success!

Congratulations go out to photographer Connie Wolfe, first place winner of the People's Choice Award with "Winter's Cathedral," shown above.
More than 80 people cast ballots for their favorite art work.
