Morbid Curiosity Book Club to meet Thursday at Derby Neck Library


DERBY - Morbid Curiosity Book Club at Derby Neck Library is an adults-only book club reading true crime, cults, conspiracies, mortuary science, and more!

At Thursday's session we'll discuss Barbara Rae-Venter's genetic genealogy memoir, I Know Who You Are: How an Amateur DNA Sleuth Unmasked the Golden State Killer and Changed Crime Fighting Forever. 

Copies are available by the side entrance of the Library. Join us!

Ansonia to host annual Harvest Festival Sept. 28


 

Gazy Brothers Farm in Oxford asks donations for flood victims


OXFORD - This week at our markets we will be accepting donations to help rebuild Creative Starts Daycare in Oxford, after the building and everything inside was ruined by last Sunday’s flood.
Specifically, they are looking for diapers/wipes but will gladly accept any toys, books, paper goods, playground equipment, etc.
Monetary donations and Amazon gift cards are also greatly appreciated, as they can be used towards purchasing new furniture.
Additionally, we will also be accepting any nonperishable food items for the Seymour/Oxford Food Bank.

The Children's Room at Ansonia Library offers superhero Take and Learns


Beginning September 3

This month, learn more about CT comics and create your own superhero! 

Available for pickup outside the Children's Room, while supplies last.

The Library is at 53 S. Cliff St., Ansonia.

CT Foodshare truck to visit St. Mary's Church Tuesday in Derby


DERBY - The Connecticut Foodshare truck will return to St. Mary’s Church parking lot Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 2:15 until 3 p.m. No income limits, no questions asked...just bring a bag to receive some food. Next visit after that will be Sept. 10.

The church is at 212 Elizabeth St.

First Selectwoman: Bridge in Seymour on Rt. 67 will be one lane today


The Bridge over Hoadley Pond on Rt. 67 will be down to one lane today [Monday].

They are cleaning out under the bridge and the pond. Thank you.
