Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton displays collection of English Royal Family china


SHELTON - Stop by Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St. to see a collection of English Royal Family Bone China and Commemorative Tins.

They are from the collection of Shelton resident Louise MacCormack and will be on display through June.

Ansonia remembers the fallen with Memorial Walk Sunday



ANSONIA - Thanks goes to the Gordon-Visselli American Legion Post 50 Commander Mike Heise and Post 50 Adjutant Pat Henri for making our Memorial Day celebration special in honor of those who gave their lives for freedom.
It began with a flag walk down the traditional Memorial Day Parade path and culminated in a small ceremony at Veteran’s Park.
Thank you to all those in attendance including First Selectwoman of Seymour Annmarie Drugonis, President of the Board of Aldermen Josh Shuart, Alderman Joe Cassetti, Alderman Bill Phipps, state Sen. Jorge Cabrera, state Rep. Kara Rochelle, Ansonia Police, Fire and Public Works.

Derby Neck Library to host pet parades via Zoom this summer


DERBY - Derby Neck Library is offering residents a chance to bring all of their pets together for a grand show! 
Log in at any point during the hour between 11 a.m. and noon on June 30, July 21, and Aug. 11 to show off your pet, a photo of your pet, or your favorite stuffed animal. 
Everyone will have a chance to talk about their pet and ask questions of others. 
Four legs, two legs, fins, wings, scales, all are welcome! 
You'll get points in READsquared and a badge for attending, but you will also get extra points if you can "tie your tail to tale"- for example: "My dog Fluffernutter is just like Rip Van Winkle because he loves to sleep!"

Derby Public Library to host Teen Summer Club via Zoom



DERBY - The Derby Public Library invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to this season’s virtual Teen Summer Club, Tails & Tales! 


Interested patrons should sign up at the library’s Calendar of Events, with registration opening June 14 and club programming starting June 23. 

Club members will gather via Zoom with meeting links to be emailed after registration for each event. 

The eight-week summer club will include Maker Space Grab-n-Go activities, as well as Teen Advisory Board meetings, Game Nights, Classic Graphic Novel read-n-shows, Audiobook SYNC chats, and member reviews of books, articles, and websites. 

Active participants will earn credits toward weekly prizes.
