Social Security topic of series at Ansonia Library

ANSONIA - The Ansonia Library will host a series, Social Security: Your Questions Answered, from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesdays, starting this Wednesday (May 13) through June 24.

Social Security will likely be the foundation of your retirement income.

Derby Library to host program on TV series' fashion

DERBY - An innovative program, Downton Abbey: Fashion and Social Change, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Derby Public Library.

Susan Jerome, Collection Manager, University of Rhode Island Historic Textile and Costume Collection, created this program as a result of the television phenomenon, Downton Abbey, set in the early 20th century.

The presentation will highlight the social, technological, and political changes of the time period and show how they influenced the fashion choices of the first five seasons.
