Seymour Public Library to host Bring the Hoopla Pre-K class


SEYMOUR - The staff of Seymour Public Library is excited to offer a free BringtheHoopla class just for preschoolers ages 3-5! 
Come hula-hoop with us from 10:30-11:15 a.m. June 7 and learn a few new tricks along the way. Zero experience necessary, the BringtheHoopla team is great with first timers! 
Registration is required and limited.

Cartoonist to offer class for kids on drawing funny stuff at Derby Public Library


Cartooning for Kids (Ages 6-11)

DERBY - Debi Hamuka-Falkenham has enjoyed her work as a humorous illustrator (aka: cartoonist) for the past 25+ years.
She has given thousands of cartooning classes at libraries, public and private schools, camps, and home school groups.
Debi's fun artwork and creative writing have been used by such companies as Crayola, Fisher Price, General Motors, Dayspring Greetings, GTE and also for a variety of other noted companies for educational materials, children's books, computer programs, and numerous other printed items, even pizza boxes.

Ansonia man, 17, arraigned Wednesday in April 5 Hubbell Avenue homicide




ANSONIA - Monteral Crews, 17, of Ansonia was arraigned Wednesday at Derby Superior Court for the April 5, 2022 homicide of Johnny Class, police said today in a release. 


Crews was taken into custody in North Carolina by the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force on May 13, 2022 and brought back to Connecticut on May 27, 2022. Crews was arraigned in Juvenile Court on May 31, 2022 where the case was transferred to adult court.

 

Crews was charged with felony murder, murder, criminal attempt at robbery first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery first degree, and carrying a pistol without a permit. 

Crews is being held on a $1.5 million bond and his next court date is June 23, 2022 at Milford Superior Court.

 

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated.
