Celebrate the animals of Halloween at Ansonia Nature Center program

Saturday, Oct. 28 at noon

ANSONIA - Come and learn about the Nature Center’s resident animals at this special creature feature celebrating the animals of Halloween.

The staff will talk about the different species of mammals, reptiles, insects, and birds we have on display. You may perhaps get a glimpse at some rarely seen critters that call the Nature Center home. 

We will also teach the children how to touch and handle some of these soft, scaly, and slimy creatures.

Ansonia Nature Center slates 2 programs April 29

Birds on the Move  April 29, 9-10 a.m. Spring is underway, and many birds are busy migrating. Join Ranger Evelyn for a bird walk and learn how and why birds migrate.  Binoculars are provided, or you can bring your own.  All ages are welcome. Register for this FREE program at ansnaturectr@ansoniact.org

Wildflower Seed Bombs  April 29, 2-3 p.m. Native American gardeners invented seed bombs, and the hippies in the 1970s caught on to this practice to Green up empty urban lots.  Let’s get those fingers mushing a mixture of clay, soil, and seeds to make our seed bombs. We will be using responsibly harvested seeds that are beneficial and non-invasive to Connecticut.  While a young child can do this activity, adults will want to make their seed bombs as well!  All ages welcome, $6 per family register at ansnaturectr@ansoniact.org This is shared from the nature center's newsletter.
