Ansonia Nature Center seeks Conservation Corps volunteers


ANSONIA - Join us at the Nature Center, preserving and enhancing our precious forests and meadows! 

We’re on a mission to protect the integrity of our natural habitats by removing harmful invasive species and nurturing our valuable trees and plants.

Our team is committed to safeguarding the tree canopy and preventing the further encroachment of destructive plants. From cutting down invasive Asiatic Bittersweet vines to clearing out other invasive species, we’re actively working to restore and maintain the health and biodiversity of our landscapes. 

Conservation Corps work sessions will be held:  April 22, 29, 9:30 a.m.; April 26, 9:30 a.m.; May 6, 13, 20, 27, 9:30 a.m.; May 24, 9:30 a.m.

Whether you’re 18 or 80, our Conservation Corps welcomes newcomers eager to impact the environment positively.

Valley Shakespeare Festival to perform at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton


SHELTON - Valley Shakespeare Festival will present "Much Ado About Nothing" at 6 p.m.
May 7 at Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St.

"Much Ado About Nothing" is one of the Bard's most beloved plays. Come join us for a fun filled, magical evening.
Registration is free and required. Reserve your seat early! 
Tickets will "sell" out.

This production is made possible by a grant from the Shakespeare in American Communities from the National Endowment of the Arts and Arts Midwest.

Tonight's Coffee with Kara at Copper City in Ansonia is postponed


Friends and Neighbors,

Unfortunately, tonight's Coffee Hour at Copper City Bar & Grill is postponed. 

In the meantime, if you would still like to connect please email me any time at  Kara.Rochelle@cga.ct.gov and I am happy to set up a time to talk! 
 
Going forward, the typical Monday night “Coffee with Kara” events will be moved to Tuesday nights, to accommodate new hours at Copper City, which has graciously let us host at their location for years.

CT Foodshare truck returns Tuesday to St. Mary's Church parking lot in Derby

DERBY - The CT Foodshare truck will return to St. Mary’s Church parking lot Tuesday, April 22 from 2:15-3 p.m.

Tickets will be distributed to everyone PHYSICALLY IN LINE at 2 p.m. No income limits, no questions asked...just bring a bag to receive some food. Next visit will be May 6.
