Ansonia High School slates yearbook distribution


Yearbook Distribution For Ansonia High School Students ONLY
Wednesday, July 8
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
To keep distribution as safe and efficient as possible,
please follow these guidelines.
1. Drive up to the main entrance.
2. Remain in your vehicle.
3. Your yearbook will be brought to your car door.
4. Bring CASH for any balance due. (You will receive an individual email if a balance is due.)
5. Place payment in an envelope with your full name on the outside of the envelope.
There are a limited number of yearbooks still available.
If interested, you must reserve one by emailing Ms. Mudry @ pmudry@ansoniaps.org prior to July 8.

Derby Public Library to host online guided meditation session

DERBY - Join Autumn Blackwood online at 11 a.m. Saturday for a guided meditation session hosted by the Derby Public Library.
Mindfulness and meditation are on the rise as ways to cope with the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
This is a rescheduled summer 2019 program. Autumn will gently guide you through visualization to a mental space that you can return to time and time again when you need to safely escape everyday life.

Registration is required for this program below and will be conducted through Zoom.

Shelton Library System to host First Chapter Friday for teens


SHELTON - Patrons in grades 9-12 can join Miss Jessica at 1 p.m. Friday as she reads the first chapter of the 2021 Nutmeg Nominee Buried Beneath the Baobab Tree by Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani.

Patrons must register with an email address to receive the meeting ID and password.
Program will run between 15-30 minutes.

Derby Neck Library to hold webinar on suffrage movement in Valley

Frances Osborne Kellogg

DERBY - Join Pat Sweeney, Derby Neck Library research librarian, at 10 a.m. July 18 in a free webinar as she discusses the local suffragette movement and Frances Osborne Kellogg.

A lifelong Derby resident, Kellogg was an agriculturalist and businesswoman who supported the 19th amendment.

The webinar will feature a historical perspective of this time period and local events.
