Griffin Health in Derby to host Pride Month celebration Sunday

 


DERBY - The celebration will be held at The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness, 350 Seymour Ave. 
The event will feature:

• Information and education from physicians and providers with expertise in caring for the LGBTQ+ community
• Community guests such as the Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus and the New Haven Pride Center
• A1C, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings
• A healthy cooking demonstration


Seymour Public Library to host online Food Explorers class on no-bake cheesecake


SEYMOUR - Join Food Explorers to make  delicious No-Bake Mini Cheesecakes at 4:30 p.m. July 8. 
The program is hosted by Seymour Public Library.
You’ll need the following ingredients: graham crackers, butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, cream cheese (2 bricks = 24 cheesecakes), white sugar, lemon juice, plain yogurt OR sour cream and optional vanilla extract plus topping of your choice (berries, sprinkles, chocolate chips). Whipped cream can be made from scratch during class! 
You will need an electric mixer.

Valley legislators to hold session recap at Gazebo on Derby Green


 

Residents will be able to connect with the legislators in person to learn more about the legislation passed during the 2021 legislative session and share their questions. 

Participants are encouraged to bring their own chair.

TEAM, Inc. in Derby to host Child Tax Credit Days


DERBY - Each year, TEAM delivers critical tax preparation services through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program - playing a key role to help keep and put money in the pockets of hard-working people who really need it.

Investing with families is a year-long initiative, and the American Rescue Plan is becoming a lifeline for the thousands of children and families turning to TEAM throughout the pandemic.

TEAM is pleased to announce Child Tax Credit Day and is available to continue helping parents in the Milford and Greater Valley region with dependents age 17 and under to claim the Advanced Child Tax Credit payments beginning in July 2021.

If you have not filed your 2020 Tax Return, please contact TEAM 203-736-5420 to hear more on accessing the Advanced Child Tax Credit.
