First United Methodist Church in Ansonia slates tag sale Saturday



 ANSONIA - First United Methodist Church will hold a tag sale featuring a variety of items, from housewares and jewelry to toys, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Free coffee will be available.

The church is located at 47 Franklin St. For information call the church office, 203-734-0374.

In the fall the church will hold a Neighborhood Tag Sale similar to the well-attended one held last October. It will be open to church members and the public for renting tables with their own personal items to sell.  


Derby Neck Library to host presentation on 'The Valley in the 1930s'


DERBY - Derby Neck Library reference librarian and local historian Patricia Sweeney will hold a presentation on Valley life in the 1930s at 6:30 p.m. May 11. 

It will cover what actions FDR and local officials took during the severe economic downturn, the Great Hurricane of 1938, and much more.

The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.

CT Foodshare Truck to visit St. Mary's Church Tuesday in Derby


DERBY - The CT Foodshare Truck will return to St. Mary's Church parking lot Tuesday May 9 from 2:15 - 3:15 p.m. 

No income requirements, no questions asked. Just bring a bag to fill with fresh food.
