Here's the cover of this imaginative tale.

The book is written and illustrated by Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo of Derby.

Recuperation journey: And then there were three

So I don't think I've mentioned this interesting tidbit before.

When I tell my friends that I have three kidneys they all are amazed, as I was when they told me they wouldn't be taking one of my diseased organs out during surgery.

When I went for my first consultation a year ago the surgeon felt my belly and said there was room!

I have read on the good ol' Internet there are times when a person's kidneys are so horribly swollen - 15 pounds each, for example - that surgeons will remove them during the transplant.
But otherwise they stay intact. That makes a lot of sense!

Support sought for Derby family displaced by fire Sunday

I'm sharing this GoFundMe link to help support a family of four who lost their possessions in a fire Sunday at their home on Caroline Street in Derby.

Please consider helping them.
