Teens invited to Derby Neck Library Monday for puzzles, games

Sharpen your mind and unwind: Mondays are for puzzles, games, and more!

Join us in the Teen Space from 4:30-6 p.m. Monday for a mix of brain teasers, strategy, and friendly competition! Here you can piece together giant jigsaw puzzles, sharpen your mind with Wordle and Sudoku, challenge a friend to regular chess or laser chess, or even dive into the world of Magic: The Gathering!

Whether you’re here to relax, think hard, or try something new, there’s always a challenge (and a new friend) waiting for you!

From the 'Turnback Tuesday' archives: The Home Trust Company

This week's "Turnback Tuesday" features The Home Trust Company, which was incorporated by a special charter of the Connecticut General Assembly in 1893. The company was located on the corner of Main and Elizabeth Streets in Derby.

In 1901, Home Trust Co. built its own building at the same location and occupied half of the first floor. In 1922, an addition was built so the company could make use of the entire first floor. The bank dealt with "savings, real estate management, insurance and trust department functions."

In the 1970s, the bank was merged out of existence. Today, the building is home to the Derby Senior Center.
