Pet first aid class slated at Griffin Hospital in Derby

DERBY - Join us for one of our popular Pet First Aid Classes being hosted from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 27 by the People and Animals Working in Spirit (PAWS) therapy dog group at Griffin Hospital.
Come meet the EARS Team and learn about the work we do responding to medical emergencies and technical rescues involving animals in our community, stay for our Pet First Aid class from noon-1 p.m. which will include a multimedia presentation and hands-on learning, then join us for a Q&A session where you'll have the chance to ask your questions of our team!
Registration is required, but this program is open to all ages. Stay tuned for information on how to register.
There is a $10 per person suggested donation; all contributions will go to help EARS continue its pet response mission.
Griffin Hospital is at 130 Division St.
Recuperation journey: Waiting for eggshells
Another morning, another blue jay. With five of them around the yard lately it is getting easy to capture a photo.
I just realized it's the same pose as yesterday...maybe it's the same bird.
They must have gotten the eggshells I threw out yesterday because there are footprints and holes in the snow.
Hmm ... maybe I will have an egg for breakfast. I should feed my newfound friends.
