DERBY - Griffin Hospital’s Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition recently received a $2,500 donation from Mutual Security Credit Union of Shelton to support health and wellness programs for Valley youth.

“We are very thankful for this generous donation from the Mutual Security Credit Union,” said Cathi Kellett, Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition coordinator. “It is with community partnerships like this that we are able to bring engaging interactive and educational programs to our local youth.”

Griffin Hospital's Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition educates children and adults on a variety of health, wellness, and safety programs to reduce unintentional injuries and death among children under the age of 17.

Safe Kids offer hands-on, interactive and fun programs at the Griffin Hospital and throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley.

At every program, children and adults receive educational activity books, related items, such as water bottles for sports safety and hydration and reflective zipper pulls for pedestrian safety, and parent literature.

The donation is part of Mutual Security’s commitment to elevating and improving the community where its members live, work and play, and to be a true community partner by assisting the great work nonprofit organizations in Western Connecticut are doing to help individuals in times of great need.

From green initiatives to charitable giving to financial education programs, Mutual Security prides itself on being an active and responsible community member.

Sharing from Seymour Pink's Facebook page:

Please note that this year's kids' run is all VIRTUAL.
There is NO live kids' run this year for the 10th Annual [Pounding the Pavement for Pink in downtown Seymour]. As a measure of safety with the younger children, it was suggested that we keep it virtual.
