BHcare's The Umbrella receives $4K from Archbishop's Annual Appeal

ANSONIA - BHcare’s The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services recently received a check in the amount of $4,000 from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal through its Vicariate Outreach Program.
The funding will help UCDVS provide free, confidential services to more than 6,000 victims of domestic violence and their children each year.
Services such as emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotlines, walk-in crisis centers, counseling, advocacy, and other supports are provided to those fleeing from domestic abuse.
“With the recent budget cuts and uncertainties in the state, we remain grateful for the continued support of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal funding,” said Esperina Stubblefield, UCDVS Director.
“The need for our services continues to increase making these funds critical to our programs and services.”
UCDVS is a program of BHcare that provides services for victims and children of domestic violence free of charge.
