We [at Seymour Oxford Food Bank] are very excited for our next food drive!!

This drive will be at Stop & Shop in Seymour at both entrances on April 25 from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. and all food will be brought directly to the food bank.

Save the date, come shop, say "Hi", and help us collect the most food to date!

'Fill the Crosley' with food Sunday at Heav'nly Donuts in Derby

DERBY - Heav’nly Donuts will hold the annual 'Fill the Crosley' food drive from noon-5 p.m. Sunday to support Spooner House in Shelton.

Sponsored by Heav'nly Donuts and Michael J.R. Burke. Rain date TBD.

The shop is at 653 New Haven Ave.

Smile Dental Center in Shelton to hold 42nd annual food drive Thursday

It’s almost time to make your annual pilgrimage to our frozen turkey and canned-food drive, benefitting Spooner House in Shelton! 

The Sofferman Pilgrim Family and Brendan Carey as “The Turkey” will be outside in full costume collecting your donations at our office at 1000 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton.

This year’s goal is to prepare 750 meal baskets, piled high with turkeys and all the trimmings! Any donation you can make goes a long way. Simply pull up, pop the trunk and we’ll help remove your frozen turkey and/or non-perishable food items from the car!

This event is proudly supported by Mutual Security Credit Union in Shelton.

DERBY - Heav’nly Donuts will hold its season finale Cruise and Food Drive for Spooner House from noon-5 p.m. Sunday. 

Heav'nly Donuts is at 653 New Haven Ave.

Donations of non-perishable food items will go to Spooner House in Shelton.

Rain date is Nov. 2.

Celebrate Halloween Eve at Carrie's Flour Garden in Ansonia

 Halloween Eve at The Flour Garden!

There will be warm apple cider, a fire crackling, and a stand full of freshly baked sourdough goodies — including some Halloween favorites like pumpkins, ghosts, and Jack Skellington loaves up for sale.

This evening is for everyone — past, present, and future customers are all welcome to stop by, browse, visit by the fire, and enjoy some cider while the kids trick-or-treat (yes, I’ll have full-size candy bars ready to go!).

Usually market days are such a rush, so I’m really looking forward to having time to slow down and actually chat with you all — the people who’ve supported me on this wild and wonderful journey. 

 Community Giving: Bring a non-perishable food item to donate for my Food Pantry Donation Box! All items will be given to the Beth El Shelter — a place that’s close to my heart and has helped people I personally know get back on their feet.
As a thank-you, you’ll receive $1 off per item purchased that evening.

Come by in costume (I’ll be dressed up too!), grab a loaf, sip some cider, and celebrate Halloween Eve with us!

Blessing Pantry of Seymour to hold food drive Saturday

If you haven't seen the sign yet, we are having a food drive to collect non-perishables for the pantry this Saturday, 9/13, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Shell station at the bottom of Great Hill Road in Seymour. Though technically, the station is in Ansonia! 

Get your winning lottery ticket inside then come say Hi to our wonderful volunteers. Maybe drop off a can or 2!
