DERBY - The Evening Book Club at Derby Neck Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. next Monday to read "Billy Budd" by Herman Melville.

Seymour Public Library to show 'Asteroid City' Wednesday


SEYMOUR - Join us at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the lower level auditorium of Seymour Public Library to watch a movie! 
Light refreshments will be served. The Library is at 46 Church St.
We'll be showing "Asteroid City" starring Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Hanks. It is rated PG-13 and its duration is 1 hour, 45 minutes.
Summary: Following a writer on his world famous fictional play about a grieving father who travels with his tech-obsessed family to small rural Asteroid City to compete in a junior stargazing event, only to have his world view disrupted forever.

Economic development forum slated Friday at Ansonia Senior Center


ANSONIA - Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City, invites you to join us Sept. 22 for a morning breakfast forum with Mayor David S. Cassetti and his economic development team to discuss the Ansonia economy.

Following welcoming remarks by our sponsor and host, Cassetti will join Sheila O’Malley, Economic Development Director, to review initiatives underway in the City.

This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local business leaders and developers.

Check-in, continental breakfast from Munch Eatery, tours and networking are 8-8:30 a.m.
Program is from 8:30- 9:15 a.m.

Derby Police to hold child car seat safety clinic Sunday


DERBY - The Derby Police Department will host a free car seat clinic Sunday, Sept. 24 to promote child car seat safety. 
Parents and caregivers can come to the Derby PD for an educational inspection and demonstration to ensure that any car seats in their vehicles are properly installed, as well as learn about the laws governing child passengers. 

The clinic will be held at the Derby Police Department, 125 Water St. from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Walk-ins to the event are welcome, but appointments are recommended.
