DERBY - Griffin Hospital recently celebrated its 139 Multi-Skilled Technicians at its seventh annual MST Day Celebration.
The MSTs were treated to lunch and raffles as a thank you for their dedication to providing exceptional patient care. MSTs assist the hospital nursing staff with patient care and are specially trained in a variety of medical skills, including phlebotomy and EKG.
In addition to the celebratory lunch, Vice President of Patient Care Services Barbara Stumpo gave awards to MSTs who excelled in their roles.

“Tammy always takes time to ensure her patients are comfortable and happy. She humbly performs her job in such a way that patients feel they are loved,” Stumpo said in giving out the award.

Seymour resident Christine Moon received the MST Excellence Award, which is given to an MST who consistently demonstrates excellent bedside care and professionalism towards patients, and possesses a kind and caring attitude that is reflected to patients, families and coworkers.
“Christine can always be counted on to offer assistance to all her coworkers,” Stumpo said.
“She will often assist other MSTs with a task and will educate as she helps them. She is always the first to help patients with anything they need in a competent, caring, and respectful manner.”

Recuperation journey: Getting ready for Ansonia's citywide tag sale

Stuff
We all have it.

Unless, of course, you are an organized and efficient person who knows how to throw out useless items. That's not my forte.
Forged aluminum dish

Since cleaning out a storage unit Saturday I've been slowly making my way through my mother's stuff from the '40s, '50s, and '60s.

Interesting family history is intertwined with junk
I'm not sure how much of it I'll try to sell. Most of what I hope to sell are items my husband and I already have - three lamps, two chairs, some smaller things.

I wrote about going through my mother's stuff Tuesday. It no doubt will be a continuing saga.

Here's the info about the tag sale:
