BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport Police Department Hockey Team is joining forces with Wonderland of Ice to host a hockey game to benefit Gracie Pisanelli, 11-year-old daughter of Officer Brian Pisanelli.
Gracie's mother, Theresa, tragically passed away this January, and the Bridgeport Police Department is trying to raise money to help Brian provide for Gracie's future.

The event will run from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 5 at Wonderland of Ice, 123 Glenwood Ave.

The main event will be a hockey game featuring the Bridgeport Police Hockey Team facing off against the Wonderland of Ice All-Stars, and will be followed by a party with food, beverages, and a DJ.

Please join us for this fun-filled evening to show our support for Gracie!
Tickets are $20 (kids under 10 are free), and can be purchased in advance through EventBrite or at the door. Pre-purchasing your tickets is helpful, as it allows for a more accurate count for food purposes. (All online tickets purchased through Eventbrite will be assessed a $2.09 per ticket processing fee).
If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation to benefit Gracie, please go to https://www.gofundme.com/gracie-pisanelli-benefit-game.

Reading + hockey = fun for Seymour students

SEYMOUR - Excitement was in the air Tuesday at Chatfield-LoPresti School when two members of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers' hockey team stopped by to read to students.

The school held a three-month winter reading challenge and read more than 6,000 books, surpassing the goal of reading 5,500 books. The challenge ends Friday, Principal Dave Olechna said.

The top two readers in each classroom got a chance to play floor hockey with the pros.
