SEYMOUR - The public is invited to a drop-in Valentine's Day craft table Friday and Saturday at Seymour Public Library, 46 Church St.

Learn history of maple sugaring at Humphreys House in Ansonia

Derby Historical Society Cultural Lecture Series: Maple Sugaring in Early America

ANSONIA - The property of the circa 1698 David Humphreys House, 37 Elm St., welcomes you to Maple Sugaring in Early America from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Feb. 22.

Historical interpreter Tom Nedweden will boil sap derived from the sugar maples of the Northeast in 17th-century fashion.
Come and learn about the science behind the sap flow and the history of how it was celebrated and used by indigenous peoples and early European settlers.

Taste a sample of maple syrup on ice! Admission is $5 per person.
