Seymour Lady Wildcats' basketball game to benefit mother of team member
SEYMOUR - The Seymour Lady Wildcats' basketball game will be held at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Seymour High School, 2 Botsford Road.

SEYMOUR - "Wednesday is our PINK game. We will raffle off gift baskets, sell t-shirts and have a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds to benefit Michelina Calabro.
"Michelina is class of 2019 Isabella Calabro’s mom who was a long-time officer for our booster club. Let’s pack the gym and give back to someone who gave so much of their time and energy to our program!"
'Turnback Tuesday' features bakery/confectionery in downtown Derby
Turnback Tuesday is taking a sweet look at Wise’s Bakery.
Owner James N. Wise moved to Derby and started his business in 1876 at 116-118 Main St., Derby.
Wise was a wholesale/retail baker and confectioner and a master of his trade. This is an advertisement card for Wise’s, boasting the delicacies he had to offer at Christmas.
Wise lived in a beautiful house built in 1890 on Elizabeth Street. The home is still there today.

19th Century health care topic of talk at Shelton Historical Society meeting
SHELTON - The Shelton Historical Society will hold its 50th annual meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 at Huntington Congregational Church, 19 Church St.
Member and retired educator Carolyn Ivanoff will present Every Man (and Woman) His Own Doctor, Health Care in 19th Century America.
After the presentation homemade soups and desserts will be served.
