Logan, Petit, Drazen join Men Against Violence initiative in Hartford

Pictured from left: state Rep. Dr. William A. Petit Jr., journalist Brad Drazen, state Sen. George S. Logan and many other Men Against Violence joined together Wednesday at the Legislative Office Building to spread the message that domestic violence and abuse is never acceptable.  
The group was founded by Interval House in 2009 in an effort to end domestic violence. February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. For information visit www.IntervalHouseCT.org.

Podiatrist to speak about foot care at Griffin Hospital in Derby

DERBY - Griffin Hospital will host a talk on foot health and the benefits of seeing a podiatrist at 6 p.m. March 1 at the hospital.
Podiatrist John D. Schwerdt of Yale Podiatry Group in Shelton and Ansonia, will present “The Community Podiatrist: The Extraordinary Benefits of our Ordinary Services.” 

The talk will cover who podiatrists are and their training, routine foot care, diabetes and foot health, age-related foot problems, and other common foot issues such as plantar fasciitis, plantar warts, and neuromas.

This talk is part of Griffin Hospital's Healthy U program, a series of free wellness talks featuring Griffin Hospital medical experts and community partners providing trusted health information and answers to questions on a wide range of topics. 
Light refreshments will be served.

Youths invited to sample, judge pizza at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton

SHELTON - Hey tweens and teens: get your 
taste buds ready for the ultimate showdown! You be the judge!  

A pizza tasting contest will be held from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 26 at Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St.
Participants will sample cheese pizzas from a variety of local restaurants.  

Judging will be on best sauce, best crust, best cheese, and more to determine Best in Show!
