John H. Collins Post 24 to conduct Veterans Day ceremony on Derby Green


DERBY - Derby City Hall will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.


The John H. Collins Post #24 - American Legion Department of CT will conduct a Veterans Day Ceremony on the Derby Green at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Uptick in COVID-19 cases closes Seymour Public Library, curbside pickup only

"Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the area, beginning Tuesday 11/10 our services will be reduced to contact-less curbside pickup only.

"Our hours will still be Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
"The public will not be able to enter the library. We are so sorry for the inconvenience but we hope everyone stays safe during this time."

Troop 3 Scouts to host drive for St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank in Derby

DERBY - BSA Troop 3 will host a food drive from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Onopiak Nature Preserve, Sodom Lane.

Help fill the Troop 3 Trailer with non-perishable food to benefit the St. Vincent De Paul food bank. Please wear a mask and remain in your vehicle. Scouts and leaders will retrieve food and donations from you.

Shelton Library System slates Animal Crossing fun for Teens and Tweens Thursday


SHELTON - Tweens and teens can join Miss Jessica from Huntington Branch Library at 2:30 p.m. Thursday on her Animal Crossing island for an hour of play!
Come trade DIYs, gather bugs, fish, dive, collect fossils, and grab mystery items!

**Patrons must have a Nintendo Switch, a copy of the game Animal Crossing, and an active Internet connection on the Switch to participate**
Patrons must register with an email address to receive a Zoom Meeting ID and password prior to the beginning of the program, where Miss Jessica will go over rules and expectations.
