Ansonia detectives, state police return to Myrtle Avenue home

From Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch:

"No press conference today.

"Ansonia Detectives and Connecticut State Police were back at 6 ½ Myrtle Ave. today doing follow-ups for the investigation into the homicide of Christine Holloway and missing person, Vanessa Morales. 
"There is no other information to release at this time."


Annual Toy drive and Sleigh Ride with Santa event slated in Derby


DERBY - Valley Angels for Families will host its annual Toy Drive and Sleigh Ride with Santa at 6:30 p.m. Friday at La Sala Banquet Hall at Sons of Italy, 73 High St.

Admission is $20 for adults; children 11 and under admitted free with donation of an unwrapped toy.

The event will include dinner, hot chocolate, horse-drawn sleigh rides, bonfire, caroling, cash bar, a raffle, and a visit from Santa and other special guests.🎅🤶

In honor of DJ DiVincenzo, a past recipient, please bring a new, unwrapped toy!

All toys will be distributed to children in local families in need, Ansonia and Derby City Hall toy drives, St. Vincent De Paul in Derby, Adams house in Shelton, Homes of the Brave, The Marc Organization, and more.🎁🎄

The fair will highlight how Griffin is transforming traditional healthcare by not only focusing on helping people get well, but also helping them stay healthy.

Attendees at the fair will be able to learn about Griffin’s community health programs, talk with representatives, and even try out some of the programs’ features, including simple, but effective exercises and healthy recipes that can combat some of the unhealthy habits of the holiday season.

There will also be information on Griffin’s surgical services, such as bariatric surgery, sports medicine, back surgery and joint replacement, free blood pressure screenings and consultation, and information on Griffin’s many free support groups.

Attendees will be able to enter into several free raffles for items and gift cards that promote wellbeing.
