Baseball talk, cupcake decorating on tap at Derby Library


DERBY - The Derby Public Library has scheduled a Hot Stove Roundup session of its 
popular Sports Talk series at 10 a.m. Feb. 5.

Rich Marazzi, author of six sports books, and host of the radio talk show Inside Baseball for 17 years, has led the Library's Silver Sluggers for nine years.

He is a Major League Baseball rules consultant and a former high school and college umpire.

Trades, signings, and rumors of the Major League Baseball’s off season will be discussed.  

As always, new members of all ages are welcome.

The 10th season of the weekly Sports Talk sessions will begin in April. 

Cupcake decorating, anyone? 
The Library will host a Hands-On Cupcake Decorating Session at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9.

Maria Bruscino Sanchez, owner of Sweet Maria’s in Waterbury, will demonstrate decorating techniques.

Each participant will get two cupcakes to decorate and take home.
Cupcakes, frosting, and toppings will be provided.  

This class is for ages 18 and over. Registration is required.
