I thought Friday would be the last day for finding foliage photos but when the sun came out Saturday I went out in search of some autumn colors. These trees are on the other side of Pickett's Pond at Osbornedale State Park as seen from Chatfield Street in Derby.

Griffin Hospital in Derby to host talk on minimally invasive hip replacement

Orthopedic surgeon Philip Minotti

DERBY- Griffin Hospital will offer a free presentation on minimally invasive hip replacement surgery at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at the hospital, 130 Division St.
Orthopedic surgeon Philip Minotti, M.D., will discuss the advanced direct anterior approach for hip replacement, which offers important advantages over standard surgical procedures.

Recuperation journey: Turkeys! in Seymour!

Well, not real turkeys, but needle-felted ones. Daughter Allegra and I are getting better at needle felting - at least we think so.

We made these cute guys in a class at Lizzie's Corner Consignment in Seymour under the tutelage of needle-felter extraordinaire Kayleigh Mihalko.

Now we have something creative to add to our Thanksgiving table centerpiece, along with the pumpkins we created in a previous class.
