'Turnback Tuesday' features millstone at Derby Public Library

Turnback Tuesday is taking time to check out the Old Millstone located in front of the Derby Public Library.

The Millstone dates back to the early 1700’s was donated to the Daughters of the American Revolution Sarah Riggs Humphreys Chapter by J. B. Sherwood. Mr. Sherwood remembers the stone located outside in the back his parents’ home when growing up.

The stone was erected and a sundial place on top by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1927 as a gift to the Library.

Thanks as always go to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week.
