Recuperation journey: Memories from 2006

Since the Ansonia High School Class of 2018 received diplomas this evening I was thinking about our daughter's graduation from AHS in 2006.

This was the best photo we have from the evening. A rainbow appeared right after the ceremony at Nolan Field!

I took it to mean good luck would follow Allegra into the future.

Derby Public Library to commemorate birthday of H. Harcourt Wood

Holton Harcourt Wood

DERBY - The Derby Public Library will commemorate the birthday of Holton Harcourt Wood, the young boy in whose memory the Library was built.

The Library will be decorated with flowers in compliance with his father Col. H. Holton Wood's request, which he made at the dedication of the Library in 1902.
This time-honored tradition has become well known over the years, not only throughout the Valley, but well beyond.
The public is invited to visit throughout the day for refreshments and to learn more about the history of the Library.

For information, visit www.derbypubliclibrary.org or call the Reference Desk, 203-736-1482.

The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.

This information is shared from the Library's website.

DERBY - Griffin Hospital seeks volunteers to help provide patients and caregivers peace of mind about future health care decisions.

The hospital’s new Advance Care Planning Volunteer Program will train individuals to help guide others in developing a plan for their care in the event they are unable to speak for themselves.

Advance Care Planning (ACP) is a process of understanding, reflecting on, and discussing individual goals, beliefs and values in order to determine one's healthcare wishes and assign a health care representative to make decisions on his or her behalf.
The program includes an online learning component and interactive classes.

For more information or to register, call Lynn Aiksnoras, 203-732-1255 or email at laiksnoras@griffinhealth.org.
