DERBY - On June 9 and 23, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., Derby Public Library invites all young adults ages 12 and above to virtual gatherings for the reading/showing of Classic Graphic Novels. 


Zoom access links will be provided via email three days prior to meeting dates.

Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton to close Monday for holiday


SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, May 31 in honor of Memorial Day.
We hope you enjoy the holiday, but also take a moment to pause and reflect on our freedom and fallen heroes.

Trash & recycling pickup will be delayed one day during the week of May 31, 2021.

Derby Public Library to host Virtual Teen Advisory Board meetings in June

DERBY - Derby Public Library invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to virtual Teen Advisory Board meetings from 3:30-4:30 p.m. June 2, 16, and 30.


Attendees are encouraged to voice their ideas for improving and expanding young adult library services and teen programming. 

Focus will include participant input that contributes to the library fulfilling its mission of quality-of-life enhancements in: knowledge; entertainment; and citizenship.

Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center to host woodland walk on CT Trails Day


ANSONIA - A nature walk will be held on Connecticut Trails Day June 5 from 9 a.m.-noon (rain or shine).

Join Ansonia Nature Center Director Alison Rubelmann and Ranger Evelyn Kubik for a morning walk. 

"Discover the beauty of the Nature Center’s typical New England woodland. We might get lucky and find a lady slipper or two. This hike will be an educational and entertaining hike to identify nature along the way while we explore Raptor Woods trail and beyond. 

"Dress for hiking: sturdy shoes, water, and small snack recommended. Please register in advance as space will be limited. Free."
