Trash, recycling collection in Shelton delayed a day for holiday

Due to the Labor Day Holiday, there will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026.

Monday’s collection will be delayed one day.

For the rest of the week, put your trash and recycling out on your regular collection day. If it is not picked up that day, it will be collected the following day.

The Transfer Station and Shelton City Yard will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

SEYMOUR - Tomorrow Monday, Feb. 19, is President's Day.

All town buildings and offices are closed.

The transfer station is closed.

Trash and recycling is on schedule. Please ensure the bins are put out the night before.

There are no town boards, committee meetings

or workshops on Monday night.

Create art out of recycled books at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton

SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library will host a  crafting class with Vanessa Fasanella at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

We'll be recycling discarded books and turning them into a scrapbook, travel memento, or photo album. 

When we cut, paint, and decorate, and add photo corners and headings, we will transform a book into a personal work of art. 

Join us to repurpose library discards and hardcovers.

The Library is at 65 Wooster St.

The CT State Recycling Coordinator will give an awesome interactive presentation on recycling this Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 6-7 p.m. at the Ansonia Public Library.

"The Derby-Shelton Fireworks have officially been postponed to Thursday July 8, 2021. The new rain date is Friday July 9, 2021.

"A reminder that Derby City Hall and offices will be closed on Monday July 5, 2021 in observance of Independence Day.

"There will be trash and recycling pick-up on Monday July 5, 2021 and there is no delay in pickup during the week of July 5, 2021.

"The Transfer Station will be open on Monday July 5, 2021.

"Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!"

The winter parking ban is in effect.

On Sunday night, please park on the even side of the street.

The Derby Parking Garage on Thompson Place is open at no charge during the winter storm for all downtown residents to get their cars off of the street.
