Ansonia Nature Center to celebrate Earth Day Saturday



ANSONIA - Every day is Earth Day at the Ansonia Nature Center! 
We invite you to honor Mother Earth with our Friends of the Ansonia Nature Center co-hosting this annual event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. The center is at 10 Deerfield Lane.
Enjoy hikes, live animals, environmental exhibitors, a farmer’s market, music, and more! Food and snacks available from local vendors. No park admission fee. 
All ages welcome; bring family and friends to celebrate spring!
Free admission! No registration necessary.

Register now for a free tree at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton


SHELTON - The Children's Department at Plumb Memorial Library is working with an organization called Neighborhood Forest so that families interested in celebrating “Earth Day” can register to receive a free native-species tree in April.
Registration is open until 3/15. Info and registration can be found here:
Plumb Memorial Library’s Children’s Department will be the pick-up location.

Ansonia Nature Center to hold annual Earth Day celebration


ANSONIA - The Ansonia Nature Center invites everyone to join us this Earth Day. This year’s theme is Our Power, Our Planet, and will feature hikes, live animal shows, nature exhibitors, and unique items are available for purchase from local vendors. We will have several food trucks onsite as well. 

All ages are welcome to this family-friendly event. No park admission fee. No registration required.  

“Dedicated to creating a lifelong connection to nature.” 

Our mission is to foster environmental stewardship that connects our communities to the natural world of the Lower Naugatuck River Valley, and balance the demand for recreation with the need for conservation. Spring cleanup slated at Shelton History Center



SHELTON - Spring has sprung - get your gloves, shovels, and brooms ready for spring cleaning at Shelton History Center, 70 Ripton Road.
In celebration of Earth Day and anticipation of our warm weather events, Shelton History Center is holding its annual Spring Site Clean Up April 20 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Come lend a helping hand! Great opportunity for community service or volunteer hours.
Shelton Historical Society owns and operates Shelton History Center.

Earth Day cleanup slated Saturday at Seymour Community Center


 

Olde Ripton Garden Club to hold cleanup of Ripton Road in Shelton


SHELTON - Come out and show your investment in helping keep our community clean from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Earth Day. 

The Olde Ripton Garden Club will be meeting at our beautiful Huntington Green and working our way up Ripton Road (concluding at Shelton's History Center). We will be picking up litter; gloves and trash bags will be provided. 

Individuals can park at the Community Center.

Any student in need of volunteer hours, please bring any necessary paperwork with you.

OXFORD - The Oxford Cultural Arts Commission is hosting its third annual Earth Day Poster Contest! Show us what Earth Day means to you!
Open to any Oxford resident.
Can be created using any art medium.
Take a picture of your entry and submit it via eMail CulturalArts@Oxford-ct.gov.
Deadline to submit entries is April 15, 2022.
Winners will be announced on Earth Day April 22.
