Celebrate Shelton to hold 12th year of Downtown Sounds at Veterans Memorial Park


SHELTON - Get ready for our 12th year of Downtown Sounds: Summer Concerts from 4-10 p.m June 27 at Veterans Memorial Park.
The event features The Alpaca Gnomes, PEAK, Modern Refuge, and special guest DJ Doey Joey!

You can expect incredible live music, delicious local food trucks, craft beer and wine, handmade artisan vendors, children’s activities and more.

FREE to attend - $10 suggested donation at the door
Rain date: Sunday, June 28 1-6 p.m.

Oxford Nature & Arts Festival slated June 7


OXFORD - The 2026 Oxford Nature and Arts Festival will feature expanded fine arts vendors along both sides of the Oxford Walkway running along Route 67. 

Vendors of all kinds will be displaying and showing off their home-made items and fine art. Are you looking for a local event where you can see art in all its formats? This is your event.

Additionally, there will be entertainment throughout the event. A presentation of reptiles is planned, musicians will be playing, along with other entertainment. If you're an entertainer and would like some exposure, please reach out to us.
There will be an expanded number of food trucks available during the event. The exact number of food trucks is yet to be determined.

Celebrate Earth Day April 18 at Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center


 

Earth Day FAQ


Q: Is there a fee to get in?
A: No, there’s no admission fee for our Earth Day Celebration!

Q: Where do I park?
A: There are two parking lots available: our main parking lot in front of the Nature Center, and an auxiliary lot in front of the Redwing Pond House, located at 21 Milan St. Follow the directions of the parking attendants.

Q: What time does the event start?
A: The event starts at 10:00 AM and continues until 3:00 PM.

Q: Where do I go to join an scheduled event?
A: Hikes and most other scheduled events will meet at the entrance to the Nature Center. Featured Creatures with James will meet inside the Nature Center. Space is limited for our live animal show, and spots fill up fast, so come early!

Q: Will there be bathrooms available?
A: Yes, there will be outdoor portable toilets on-site as well as indoor restrooms.

Q: Will the Nature Center building be open?
A: Yes, the Nature Center will be open for Earth Day. We will be closed the day after (Sunday), and will re-open on Monday.

Q: Is there a rain date for this event?
A: No, in the event of rain there will be no event.

Q: Will there be places to sit and rest?
A: Yes, there are benches at the pavilion and bleachers next to the fields

Q: Is there handicap parking available?
A: There are handicap parking spots in our main lot, and some spots will be made available next to the field; tell the parking attendant if you require accessible parking.

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Dogs are not allowed at this event, with the exception of service animals.

Q: Is this event stroller-friendly?
A: You are welcome to bring a stroller, but be advised that exhibitors and vendors will be set up on the athletic field, the condition of which can vary based on recent weather.

Q: Will there be an ATM available?
A: Yes, there will be an ATM at this event.

Q: Is outside food allowed?
A: Yes, if you would like to bring a bagged lunch or snacks with you, you are welcome to do so.

Q: Can I donate items to the raffle?
A: Yes! We welcome donations, and will be accepting raffle items up until Monday the 7th. When you drop items off at the Nature Center, be sure to fill out the Donation Log sheet.

Annual Autumn Festival slated Oct. 18 at Ansonia Nature Center

Autumn Fest is One Month Away

Autumn time is here, and the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center invites you to their annual Autumn Festival. 

Attractions include food trucks, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, face-painting, raffles, free-to-play children’s games, animal shows, vendors, and more!

NO park admission fee.

Ansonia Nature Center to hold annual Earth Day celebration


ANSONIA - The Ansonia Nature Center invites everyone to join us this Earth Day. This year’s theme is Our Power, Our Planet, and will feature hikes, live animal shows, nature exhibitors, and unique items are available for purchase from local vendors. We will have several food trucks onsite as well. 

All ages are welcome to this family-friendly event. No park admission fee. No registration required.  

“Dedicated to creating a lifelong connection to nature.” 

Our mission is to foster environmental stewardship that connects our communities to the natural world of the Lower Naugatuck River Valley, and balance the demand for recreation with the need for conservation. Kriz Farm in Bethany to present Holiday Market Dec. 7



BETHANY - Get into the holiday spirit Dec. 7 at the Kriz Farm Holiday Market. 
Join us for a festive, family-friendly celebration filled with all your favorite holiday traditions.
Kriz Farm is at 13 Bear Hill Road.

Pre-Cut Christmas Trees & Wreaths: Find the perfect tree for your home, along with beautiful wreaths to add a touch of holiday cheer to your doorstep.
Craft Vendors: Shop local artisans offering unique holiday gifts, decorations, and handcrafted goods.
