Oxford Nature & Arts Festival slated June 7


OXFORD - The 2026 Oxford Nature and Arts Festival will feature expanded fine arts vendors along both sides of the Oxford Walkway running along Route 67. 

Vendors of all kinds will be displaying and showing off their home-made items and fine art. Are you looking for a local event where you can see art in all its formats? This is your event.

Additionally, there will be entertainment throughout the event. A presentation of reptiles is planned, musicians will be playing, along with other entertainment. If you're an entertainer and would like some exposure, please reach out to us.
There will be an expanded number of food trucks available during the event. The exact number of food trucks is yet to be determined.

Center Stage Theatre in Shelton to hold reading of comedy Saturday


SHELTON - This weekend marks the world premiere of a brand-new play – Smiling: a sad, weird, neurotic comedy - at Center Stage Theatre. 

From playwright Ben Souza (2x winner of the Ernie DiMattia Emerging Young Artist Award for playwriting) and Shelton High School senior, Smiling follows Barry Adler, a struggling comedian - trapped in his own thoughts, navigating his life and relationships in New York City. 
The play is a relevant examination of humanity and relationships, questioning where we find true happiness in life.
This performance will be a staged reading at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. 
The theater is at 54 Grove St.

The Kerry Boys to perform Irish music at Derby Neck Library



DERBY - Join us March 26 at 2 p.m. for one hour of traditional and original songs by The Kerry Boys, an Irish music duo that has performed from Pennsylvania to Maine for over 20 years.

This is an in-person event. No registration is required, but seating is limited. The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.

Griffin Health to present star-studded gala at Aria in Prospect


DERBY - The 2019 Griffin Health Gala Oct. 11 will be a star-studded event as top celebrity impersonators from Las Vegas bring glitz and glam to Aria in Prospect.
The event will run from 6:30-11:30 p.m.

Master Impersonators, The Edwards Twins, will present An Evening with the Stars, a rollicking live performance of musical hits from legendary musical superstars. 
The Edwards Twins have performed all over the world and received rave reviews from national media, including the NBC Today show, USA Today and The Boston Globe.
Guests will also be treated to exquisite dining to match Aria’s delightfully manicured and sculpted gardens, and breathtaking scenic views of autumn in Connecticut.
The evening closes out with dancing to the invigorating and eclectic sounds of La Blanc Entertainment. 
There will also be a silent auction for guests to bid on exciting items, fabulous experiences, and one-of-a-kind memorabilia.
Tickets start at $195 per person. Black tie is suggested.

Proceeds from the Gala will help develop and sustain essential programs and services that address the wide-ranging health care needs of the communities Griffin serves ensuring access to innovative, high-quality care in a healing, person-centered environment.

The Friend A. Russ Fund will be honored with the 2019 Presidents Award at the Gala.

Putt for a Cure in Shelton to benefit Seymour Pink

SHELTON - Putt for a Cure will be held May 18 at the Sports Center of Connecticut, 784 River Road.
 
Join members of Team Seymour Pink as they host this event to support the Team at this year's Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. in October.  

There will be food from the Mini Munch food truck, entertainment from local radio personalities, raffle prizes and more.
Register as an individual or as a team of four. Teams can be family or friends. 
If you register as less than a team of four you will be paired with others to form a foursome.
Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred Tee Time.
Together we can putt around and make a difference for breast cancer patients and their families.
