Derby Neck Library to debut kids' program Monday

DERBY - For our most curious school-aged explorers, come see our newest program: World Wonders: Documentaries & Trivia!

The format is simple. We will watch a fun documentary about an exciting topic, and then test your knowledge in a trivia game afterwards. All participants receive a sticker, and the participant with the most correct answers wins a free book!

World Wonders is every 4th Monday of the month. This month's documentary is Dino Dan and Dino Trackers. Learn about prehistoric creatures with this engaging dino hunt!

Hosted by Ms. Ona. We hope to see you at 4:30 this Monday!

The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.

Oxford Cultural Arts Commission to hold community drum circle Saturday

Join the Oxford Cultural Arts Commission at 5 p.m. Sept. 26 for Gather & Groove, a welcoming community drum circle, at 486 Oxford Road led by local facilitator Ken Parker.
Together we’ll explore rhythm as a way to connect, relax, and create something spontaneous as a community.
Drum circles are open to everyone—whether you’ve been playing percussion for years or have never picked up a drum before. Ken will help guide the circle so that each participant can find their place in the rhythm as the groove builds and evolves.
Participants are encouraged to bring a drum, shaker, bucket, or any object that makes a joyful sound. A limited number of instruments will also be available to borrow, so newcomers are always welcome.
All ages and experience levels are invited to join. Come for a few minutes or stay for the whole circle as we gather, listen, and let the rhythm carry us.
