'Turnback Tuesday' features Class of '39 at St. Mary's School in Derby

Turnback Tuesday looks at another graduating class of 1939, St. Mary’s School, Derby.

These young students are sitting in front of the grand steps of St. Mary’s Church, a structure that still stands as grand today.

The two priests sitting in front are Fr. Andrew J. Plunket on the left and we believe the priest on the right is Fr. John J. Barney.

This photo is a recent donation to the Library, but again we need your help to identify those in the photo. One of these students could be your grandparent, aunt, or uncle.

Thank you in advance for your help in "Hunting for History."

Thanks go to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week!
