Election Day is Nov. 7.

Movie about Charlton Comics is topic of talk at Derby Public Library

DERBY - The Derby Public Library will host a presentation by the producers of the upcoming feature-length documentary about Derby’s Charlton Comics entitled “Charlton Comics: The Movie.”
The presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov.14 at the library, 313 Elizabeth St. Keith Larson and Jackie Zbuska will discuss the production of the movie, show some footage from the film, and talk about the history of Charlton and recent resurrection of the comic’s brand under the mantle of Charlton Neo Media.

Founded by John Santangelo Sr. and Ed Levy, Division Street, Derby was home to Charlton Comics from 1945 to 1986, controlling all areas
of its publishing, from editorial to printing. The
company has become legendary in the comic industry. Unknown to most is the long list of renowned comic book talent that once worked for Charlton, including Steve Ditko who went on to co-create Spider-Man and Dick Giordano who became an executive at DC comics.
All are invited to share their memories, and get a sneak preview of this new Derby documentary.

Registration is requested.
For more information, stop by the Library, call 203-736-1482, or visit www.derbypubliclibrary.org.
