Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton offers new kids' programs in July


NEW Children's Programs debuting in July at Plumb Memorial Library:
Mix & Play: Make your own play dough then we'll play with it using library tools!
Wednesday, 7/12
10:30-11:30 a.m.
Ages: 3 years old +
Krista's Kids Yoga: Learn yoga poses from a Yogi, Ms. Krista as well as breathing techniques too!
Thursday, 7/14
5:30-6:15 p.m.
Ages: 8-12 years old
Wednesday Movie Matinee
Movie: Muppets From Space
Join us for a free family movie and snacks, you provide the family and your own beverages!
Wednesday, 7/19
1-3 p.m.
Ages: 3 years old +
Fabric Bowl Workshop
Join Miss Maura as she teaches you how to make a bowl from fabric scraps, balloon and glue! Yes, it will be messy fun!
Saturday, 7/22
11 a.m.-noon
Ages: 4 years old +

Derby Public Library to host crafting fun for kids


Quirky Bird Crafting (Ages 5-12)
Tuesday, July 11 from 1-2 p.m.
DERBY - Come create a fun project geared for ages 5-12 at Derby Public Library.
Craft instruction will be facilitated by Lisa Lupa of Quirky Bird Crafting.
Come see a sample of the project on display in the Children’s Department. All materials will be provided and there is no fee to attend.

The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.

Seymour Public Library offers fun kids' activities in March



SEYMOUR - The Seymour Public Library, 46 Church St., has a variety of educational and fun activities scheduled in March.

3/6, 13, 20, 27, 4/3 - 10:30 a.m.- Family Place Play Group – many different types of play, craft table and brief circle time- meet up with old friends and make new friends – for infants to 6 years old – sometimes helpful info from local childhood experts- all are welcome!

3/7 - 4 p.m. – Nutmeggers’ - YA Book Club for Grades 5 - 8.  Book talk, craft and a snack - features the Intermediate Nutmeg Nominees.

3/8 - 4 p.m. – BookChatters’ Book Club for Grades 2-4. Book talk, craft, and a snack - features the Magic Tree House Series 

3/15 - 10:30 a.m.- Preschoolers’ Egg Hunt Party! Stories, games, crafts, and refreshments for infants - 6 year olds! Bring your own basket!

3/15 - 3 p.m. – Movie “Ferdinand” based on the classic book. Popcorn served!

3/22 -10:30 a.m.– Science Snoopers ‘Animal Homes!’ – Natural science, story, and craft for ages 2 and up. Must be able to sit and listen.

All programs are free! fun! and formative!
Some have limited enrollment and registration is required for all programs.

White Hills Fire Company in Shelton to hold annual open house Saturday

SHELTON - White Hills Fire Company will host its annual open house from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the firehouse, 2 School St.


This event will include live demonstrations, kids' activities, fire prevention information, food, recruitment options, and more.
All ages and families are welcome to attend and show their support. 
Fire trucks will also be available to explore and learn what Shelton firefighters do on a regular basis. 

Live demonstrations will begin around noon; there will be information and activities for people of all ages before then.

Shelton Libraries slate kids' activities Saturday

SHELTON - Drop in and celebrate entertaining book characters and their friendship through a story, party games, crafts, and a treat at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St.


If You Give a Dad a Donut
SHELTON - Celebrate Father's Day early at the Huntington Branch Library at 10:30 am. Saturday.

Children of all ages and their fathers and grandfathers are invited to listen to a story about donuts, enjoy a snack, and participate in a fun activity!  
The library is at 46 Church St.
