DERBY - St. Mary-St. Michael School will hold a shred event from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the school, 14 Seymour Ave.  
Bring your shred-ables to shred confidential documents. 
The cost is $10 per bag. 

Donate your bottle deposits - cans, bottles, and glass.  

Donate your old sneakers (tie sneakers together by their laces.)

Oxford PTO slates clothing drive, shred day fundraiser at Center School

OXFORD - The Oxford Parent Teacher Organization will hold a Clothing Drive and Shred It Day fundraiser at Oxford Center School from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 27.

Shred Drive:
A truck from Secure Shred It will be at the school and will shred all documents on site. Oxford PTO encourages people to protect themselves and their families against identity theft by attending the event. 
People can destroy unwanted junk mail, old family papers, documents, and confidential home/office papers safely and easily at the event. It is also a good way for people to recycle, PTO members say. 
People who cannot attend the event can still participate.

Clothing Drive:
The Oxford PTO will conduct its semi-annual clothing drive in conjunction with Shred It Day Oct. 27-28 all weekend at Oxford Center School GAZEBO, 462 Oxford Road (Route 67).
PLEASE BE SURE BAGS ARE SEALED AND LEFT IN THE GAZEBO.

Items being collected include gently used clothing (men, women, children), shoes, accessories (belts, pocketbooks, scarves, ties, hats), linens (bedding, curtains, tablecloths, towels), stuffed animals and toys (nothing breakable or too large).

All items should be placed in tightly sealed plastic garbage bags. 
Fragile items, as well as any books, large outdoor furniture, car seats or VCR tapes will not be accepted. Cleats that are donated need to be placed into a separate bag and marked accordingly.

Shred event in Seymour to benefit Project Purple

SEYMOUR - Project Purple is bringing Shred-it, a shredder truck, to downtown Saturday  to provide local residents and businesses an opportunity to dispose of unwanted personal papers to benefit pancreatic cancer research and patient financial aid. 

Project Purple asks those interested bring boxes of paper they would like to shred to 115 Main St. between 8 and 11 a.m. for a recommended $10 donation per box. 
2 Bills Grill, a food truck from Fairfield, will be selling sandwiches at the event.

Ansonia's 1949 Buick Ambulance was on display Saturday on Main Street at the Ansonia Harvest Festival.

ANSONIA - Ansonia Rescue Medical Services to hold a shredding event from 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 14 on North Division Street - entrance road to the Public Works Complex.

Donations accepted based on amount being shredded.
Funds raised will be earmarked toward the restoration of Ansonia’s first ambulance, a 1949 Buick.

ANSONIA - A document-shredding event to benefit Ansonia CD Rescue/Ansonia Rescue Medical Services will be held from 9 a.m.-noon June 17 at the Public Works Complex, North Division Street. 

The event is a fundraiser with donations accepted based on the amount shredded.

Funds collected will be earmarked toward the restoration of Ansonia’s first ambulance, a 1949 Buick.

Saturday shred event supports Ansonia ambulance restoration fund

I'm happy to report that Ralph and I had a lot of old, outdated documents destroyed today for a good cause. 

Members of Ansonia Rescue Medical Services held a shred event to raise funds for the restoration of the city's first ambulance, a 1948 Buick. 
And we were happy to support the endeavor.
