'Turnback Tuesday' features Memorial Day remembrance

 Turnback Tuesday remembers those who served this country in good and prosperous times as well as the dark and scary times. Men and women from all corners, backgrounds, and ages of this country joined each other to protect us all and continue to do so.

Memorial Day or Decoration Day was originally designated on May 30,1868 with the first celebration taking place at Arlington Cemetery. In 1971, federal law changed the holiday to be the last Monday in May.

Derby Public Library wants to thank each and every one of our brave and selfless citizens who served. Thank You.

Derby Neck Library offers 'What's True Wednesday' fun

DERBY - For the previous "What's True Wednesday", #1 was TRUE and #2 was FALSE--the grounds of Robert E. Lee's mansion were selected as the site of Arlington National Cemetery, in part to ensure that Lee would never again be able to return to his home.
