Ansonia Veterans Day program to feature student essays, AHS chorus


All City of Ansonia offices will be closed on Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.

Please join Mayor Cassetti for the Veterans Day program that begins at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park next to City Hall.

Sadly, due to the lack of seating at Veterans Park due to the grass reseeding, the Men in Black concert [scheduled Wednesday] has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for the Spring. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Men in Black Band to perform at Veterans Park in Ansonia


ANSONIA - Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 7-9 p.m. for Autumn Concert in the Park with "MEN IN BLACK BAND"!!
Bring your chairs and get ready to sing and dance to some great music by our locals!!
Please respect our Veterans Park grass area while we are in the process of reseeding, fertilizing, etc. for a better park for our residents. Sidewalks available for seating. Thank you.

Ansonia to commemorate 50th anniversary of end of Vietnam War

 

ANSONIA - Mayor David Cassetti invites all city residents to join him, along with Chùa Phước Long Ansonia Buddhist Temple, at noon Wednesday in Veterans Park to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

Please join us for this event to also honor the heroes for their bravery and others for their ultimate sacrifice.

Ansonia ceremony marks 82nd anniversary of Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor


Mayor David S. Cassetti honors the memory of Ansonia native Jim Sardo, a U.S. Marine and hero who gave his life in battle on Okinawa, an island in the South Pacific. He was only 20 years old.


Members of Gordon Visselli Post 50 American Legion of Ansonia fire three rounds into the sky. 


The Ansonia High School chorus led by music teacher Maria Tangredi performed several patriotic songs during the 30-minute program.

Ansonia to hold ceremony Dec. 7 to mark 81st anniversary of attack on Pearl Harbor


Please join Ansonia Mayor David S. Cassetti at  11 a.m. Dec. 7 for "A Day of Remembrance," Pearl Harbor Day. 
The annual ceremony will be held in Veterans Park next to City Hall.

Ansonia celebrates Veterans Day at annual program in Veterans Park

More than 50 residents, city officials gather to honor those who serve


Mayor David S. Cassetti listens as eighth grader Violet Schiavo reads her essay about what Veterans Day means to her. She was one of seven Ansonia Public School students to participate in the solemn ceremony.


Ansonia High School music director Maria Tangredi leads a few members of her chorus in singing several patriotic songs.


Michael Heise, Commander of Post 50 American Legion, plays Taps after a rifle salute to war dead at the conclusion of the program.
