Kids to create art Wednesday at Derby Public Library program


After listening to a book by Lois Ehlert, make a multi-color garden using only three different colored markers.
Presented by the Regional Water Authority, this hands-on program combines storytelling and creativity for a fun-filled experience!
Recommended for school aged children and older (geared for ages 7+).
Registration required to reserve supplies.

Kids to create music shakers at Derby Public Library


We will read Miss Maple’s Seeds by Eliza Wheeler, then the kids will make their own musical shakers using cardboard rolls and beans.

Kids to create garden treasures July 30 at Derby Public Library


Add a splash of color and creativity to your summer! 🌈
🎨 Create your own one-of-a-kind garden treasure! Choose from a rock, a birdhouse wind chime, or a ceramic flower pot, then paint and decorate your masterpiece to take home or share with the community.
☀️ While our creations dry, we'll enjoy some relaxing bubbles and celebrate the beauty of gardens, creativity, and kindness.
Don't forget to wear clothes you don't mind getting messy! 🎨🪴

Bend it, mold it, pull it!
Preschoolers and their grown-ups will be encouraged to use their imagination or utilize one of our play-doh kits to make something “doh-tastic” plus make some new friends too. Caregivers will be participating with their child.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll bedazzle your book cover using rhinestones to add a little sparkle! 

Whether you’re going for bold, whimsical, or full-on glam, you’ll leave with an eye-catching cover that adds personality and shine to your bookshelf. No crafting experience needed, just bring your creativity!

Bedazzling takes time so you can expect to complete the title and possibly add embellishments to a few details or illustrations, and results will vary by each participant.
Don't forget to bring your own book with you.
