Ansonia Library to offer Take & Make pine cone bird feeder craft

February Take and Make Kits

Available on February 1st

Show some love to our feathered friends this February! Our take-and-make kits, packed with everything you need to feed the birds, will be waiting for you outside the children’s room starting Feb. 1. But hurry—supplies are as limited as a blue jay’s patience, so snag yours before they fly off the shelves!

This is shared from The Children's Room at the Ansonia Library newsletter.

Flock of feathered friends to visit Derby Neck Library

DERBY - All ages are invited to join us at 4 p.m. Thursday in our garden at Derby Neck Library with Joel the Chicken Expert and his flock of feathered friends!

Joel will tell us all about how to care for chickens, types of chickens, and more on what living with a flock is all about.
Afterwards, attendees will be able to ask Joel questions and pet the chickens.
The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.
And be sure to sign up for our Youth Mailing List here to stay in the loop on cancelations and other important info: https://forms.gle/Hf9wQiLWrB4dcmgMA

Recuperation journey: Morning get-together

These guys seem to have a daily routine of stopping by the forsythia. They keep me entertained!

I took this photo through the slider. They would have taken off if I had opened the door (obviously).

Have a peaceful Tuesday.

Recuperation journey: ID needed

Update: I'm told it's a young mockingbird!

Not sure what kind of bird was seeking shelter from the rain under the patio table Sunday. Looks quite young but I need help identifying.

Recuperation journey: Bored meeting

I looked up Wednesday afternoon and there were some of my feathered friends gathered for an impromptu meeting. One on the left was just taking off when I took this.

Recuperation journey: Up on the roof

The neighbor's shed is a popular spot for our feathered friends.
There are a lot of them around and they're certainly active this morning. I took this through the window, and hope to capture some more photos.

Recuperation journey: Good morning

I was up before the birds this morning. I had to wait for them so I could practice my wildlife photography.
Have a great Tuesday!

Recuperation journey: On top of the world

My feathered friends spend a lot of time on top of the forsythia. Sometimes I catch them alone, other times they are hanging out in a big group.
