SEYMOUR - Naugatuck Community Band presents “Story Book” music inspired by literature at 7 p.m. Saturday at Seymour Middle School.

The school is at 211 Mountain Road.

This free concert is sponsored by the Seymour Culture and Arts Commission. Although the concert is free donations will be accepted for the Food Bank.

Naugatuck band to perform Sounds of Season at Seymour Middle School

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will sponsor a "Sounds of the Season" concert

presented by the Naugatuck Community Band at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Seymour Middle School. 

The school is at 211 Mountain Road. 
The concert is free.

These guys caught my eye Saturday morning as I was headed over to the Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5K event in Seymour.  

Kudos go to the commission members for their  decorating of the downtown for the season.

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will hold its downtown Trick or Treat event from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 28.

It will feature a Halloween Parade on Bank and Main Streets led by the Seymour Middle School band, followed by trick or treating at downtown businesses.

An information booth will be set up at the intersection of First and Bank Streets.

Halloween concert on tap at Seymour Middle School

SEYMOUR - The Culture and Arts Commission will sponsor a Halloween concert by the Naugatuck Community Band at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at Seymour Middle School.

Join us for an evening of Halloween favorites. Costumes are encouraged. 
The band will be in costume and will offer Halloween treats to concertgoers.

SEYMOUR - The Shops Downtown will hold their annual Sidewalk Sale in conjunction with the First Saturday Celebration from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Culture and Arts Commission is hosting a concert at 6 p.m., and The Strand Theater will show a classic movie at 7 p.m. 
There will be lots of activities for the whole family.

Singer Larry Ayce to perform Saturday in downtown Seymour

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission continues its summer concert series Saturday with the local favorite Larry Ayce performing country favorites and so much more!
The concert will take place in historic downtown Seymour in the Seymour Town Hall parking lot, 1 First St. from 6-8 p.m. as part of First Saturday festivities. 
There is no rain date or location for the concert. Please bring your own chairs. 
Parking is available on surrounding streets, but do not park in the First Street plaza as shop owners will have your car towed.

Naugatuck Community Band to perform Celtic concert at Seymour Middle School

SEYMOUR - Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Naugatuck Community Band March 11, sponsored by the Seymour Culture and Arts Commission. 

The band under the direction of Joel Knecht will present "A Celtic Celebration” featuring music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England.

The Naugatuck Community Band is a volunteer, non-profit organization consisting of musicians from throughout the Naugatuck Valley area and beyond. Members enjoy and take pride in performing music at various events throughout the year.
The Celtic concert will be held at 7 p.m. March 11 at Seymour Middle School, 211 Mountain Road.

The performance is free but those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable item to donate to the local Food Bank.

Naugatuck Community Band to perform Halloween concert in Seymour

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will host the Naugatuck Community Band at a free Halloween concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Seymour Middle School, 211 Mountain Road.

The Naugatuck Community Band under director Joel Knecht, music teacher from Waterbury Public Schools as well as veteran Seymour Schools music teacher, will present a spooky, ghoulish program including the following pieces: 

Lord of the Rings, Cave of Fear, Apparitions, Shadows Unleashed and many others. 

One of the featured pieces was written by Knecht, titled Dudleytown, based on the Connecticut town that some believe to be haunted!

Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to our local food banks. 

The audience is also encouraged to come in costume and there will be trick or treats for those children attending.

Flashback to perform Saturday at block dance in Seymour

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will end its summer concert series Saturday with a block dance.

The concert will feature the band Flashback playing music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. 

The concert will be held at the corners of First and Bank Streets in historic downtown Seymour from 6-8 p.m. in conjunction with First Saturday events. 

Please join us for a great night out! 

Parking is located on the streets and parking lots around the downtown area. 

Do not park in the First Street plaza lot – your car will be towed by the plaza owners! 

Bring your own chairs. There will be no rain date or location for this concert.

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will continue its summer concert series Saturday with the Rubber City Blues Band. 

This 11-piece ensemble based locally out of Naugatuck will be sure to entertain with their mix of Pop, Jazz, and Rhythm and Blues selections. 

The concert will take place in downtown Seymour on the corners of First and Bank Street from 6-8 p.m.
