Recuperation journey: I've been couponed

This afternoon I went to a local pharmacy to pick up a prescription and a few items.

I came home with three long strips of store coupons. 
Added together, minus the receipt info at the top of two of them, the coupons measured 10 feet in length! 
That's the most I've ever received in one shopping visit. 
I "might" use one for something I need next time I'm there. The others are going in the recycle bin.

I know I'm not the first to post about this and I won't be the last. 
But it seems like such a colossal waste of paper.

Seymour Public Library to host book clubs for kids

Seymour/Oxford Rotary posts essay deadline for 2 scholarships

The Seymour/Oxford Rotary Club is proud to announce this year’s scholarships to two graduating high school seniors and/or continuing education college students residing in the Town of Seymour and/or Oxford.

High school graduating seniors and/or continuing education college students attending a four-year college or university full time in August/September 2019 are eligible.

Rotary International’s theme is “SERVICE ABOVE SELF.”
To submit an essay, it must address the theme of SERVICE ABOVE SELF: your personal experience, the importance of service in your community, the state, and throughout the world.
Essays are limited to no more than 500 words.

Scholarship is $500 to two individual students.  
Checks will be made payable directly to the college/university upon verification of student’s attendance, i.e, presenting an invoice from college/university indicating student’s name, address and ID number.

Deadline for essay submission is April 12, 2019 to be submitted via email to nvbv@hotmail.com.  
Essay must include your name, address, telephone, email address, college/university name, address and year of attendance.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by end of April and recipients will be requested to attend a club meeting to share their essay and college goals.

Wesley Village in Shelton seeks volunteers

SHELTON - Are you an active adult or student looking for a great way to stay busy while helping others? Join our Wesley Village volunteer team!
Wesley Village is currently looking for active adult and student volunteers to share their interests and experience with our residents. 
As a Wesley Village volunteer, you could: lead an arts and crafts class, play cards and games, call bingo, cook and bake, share your musical talent, lead a discussion group, share your hobbies and interests, help with clerical tasks, lead a walking group, interview residents for life stories articles, start a book club, visit with a resident one-on-one, lead a spiritual program (prayer group, bible study, hymn sing, etc.), assist with special events, or offer your time and talents in any number of ways. 

Interested adults and students who can commit to volunteer at least two hours per month are invited to apply. 
Volunteers with evening and/or weekend availability are always needed. We are currently looking for volunteers to fill several openings in a variety of areas.
