Derby Neck Library to hold Crafternoon Sunday


DERBY - Join Kate at Derby Neck Library for a DIY Zone program from 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday and learn to use the supplies, equipment, and machinery in our adult DIY Zone!

Each session will focus on a new activity or skill.

Advance registration may be required for some events. Ages 14+ only.

The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.

Master's Table to distribute meals Sunday at Assumption Church Hall in Ansonia



Free Community Meal
When: Sunday, July 13 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. or until food runs out (rain or shine).
Where: Assumption Church Hall, 61 N. Cliff St., Ansonia
❗️Must be present to receive a meal.
❗️Park car and enter church hall, masks are optional. If you are unable to exit your car or don't want to come inside, please speak to our volunteers outside and they will bring out your meal.
❗️Pick up meal and browse giveaway table. You can eat your takeout meal inside but bring your own beverage.

Seymour Police Department posts Sunday parade route, road closures


The Town of Seymour is honored to host its annual Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 25, starting promptly at 11 a.m.
This event serves as a tribute to the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces.
Parade Route:
• The parade will commence at French Memorial Park.
• Proceed west on New Haven Road (Route 67) towards the downtown area. The parade will turn left onto Main Street, then right onto Broad Street, concluding at the Seymour Community Center.
Road Closures & Parking Restrictions.
• No parking will be permitted along the parade route from 5 a.m. until after the parade
• Vehicles found parked and in violation during the restricted times will be towed at the owner's expense.
• Private property owners are reminded that vehicles parked on their premises may be towed at the owner's expense.
Additional Information:
• Line-up for participants begins at 10 a.m. at French Memorial Park.
• Pre-parade activities are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Main Street.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe and respectful observance of Memorial Day. We look forward to seeing you there as we honor our nation's heroes.

Take a hike Sunday at Ansonia Nature Center



ANSONIA - Staff at the Ansonia Nature Center will lead a Sunday hike at 1 p.m. Feb. 19.

Need to get out and breathe the fresh air? Enjoy the winter with this guided hike through our beautiful woodland and fields. Great exercise during the heart of winter. 

This program is geared toward adults and older children. 

Please register in advance at ansnaturectr@ansoniact.org. Wear the appropriate attire for the weather.

Shelton Clean-Up Project slates Sunday afternoon trash cleanup

SHELTON - Join the Shelton Clean-Up Project for a Clean-up of Shelton Avenue from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10.  
We will meet at the trail parking under the power lines (approximately 300 Shelton Ave.). 
Help us take pride in our community while making new friends along the way!
Gloves, garbage bags, water, snacks, and a limited amount of trash pickers will be provided.
Great way for high school students to earn community service hours!
