Inclement weather forecast cancels Ansonia Memorial Day Parade

 Parade is cancelled for Sunday due to the forecasted inclement weather.

Ansonia updates milling, paving schedule

PAVING UPDATE: Due to the weather, the schedule has changed slightly.

Milling is beginning today (Wednesday), please view the schedule below. All streets have been posted for no parking and police have been ordered for traffic control.

Paving will start on Friday, 10/17, and will follow the same order as the milling schedule. Paving on Summer, Winter, and N. Cliff on Saturday to avoid any issues with Assumption School on N. Cliff St.

Wednesday 10/15 - Rufus St., Murray St., Fifth St.

Thursday, 10/16 - Summer St., Winter St., N. Cliff St.

Friday, 10/17 - Hill St., Adam St., Start Chester St.

Monday, 10/20 - Finish Chester St., Fitzpatrick Rd.

Inclement weather today cancels Celebrate Shelton concert

The safety of our community, staff, vendors, and performers comes first and we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's Downtown Sounds Summer Concert due to inclement weather in the forecast.

Unfortunately, because tonight was our 7/21 rain date, we are unable to reschedule for a second time.

Canceling tonight’s concert does come with a financial loss for our organization, so if you would like to help our efforts to put on more events in the community, donations can be made via @Venmo to @celebrateshelton.

We greatly appreciate your support and we hope to see you at our next celebration on Saturday, October 7th for Downtown Sounds: Fall Edition!

Ansonia cancels baseball game scheduled at 5 p.m.today

Forecast puts damper on event

5/15/18 UPDATE: BALLGAME CANCELLED:

Due to the severity of predicted thunderstorms arriving by 5 p.m. (game time) today, the college baseball game at Nolan Field has been cancelled. 

Wednesday rain date also remains in jeopardy due to Nolan Field's infield poor drainage. 

Any changes will be announced Wednesday morning.

As Kevin Costner said in the movie classic Bull Durham: "Baseball.....sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains."

Snow causes closing of Seymour municipal offices
