Bethany Harvest Festival on tap Oct. 6 at Old Bethany Airport

BETHANY - The town will hold its 23rd annual Harvest Festival from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 6 at Old Bethany Airport, 761 Amity Road.

This is an event for the community featuring vendors, food, and activities hosted by the Bethany Harvest Festival Committee.

Good evening residents of the great City of Ansonia:

This is Mayor David Cassetti calling with a very

important message for the upcoming weekend

event.

In light of the anticipated inclement weather, it has become necessary to reschedule the Harvest

Festival. The new date for the festival will be on

Saturday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The location remains the same, on Main Street.

Additionally, we have a rain date of Sunday, October 1st, in the event of further adverse weather conditions.

See you on Main Street!!

ANSONIA - Celebrate this wonderful season with the Friends of the Ansonia Nature Center at Autumnfest. The event will run from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 17.

Take a ride over hill and dale in a horse drawn, story hay wagon, where you’ll hear some spooky Halloween tales!  

Learn about bats, spiders and owls! Have some fresh-squeezed apple cider and freshly-made donuts, then visit the Friends Nature Shop to buy some creepy and crawly nature-related gifts. 

You can try your hand at pumpkin carving, get your face painted, and make some creative crafts. 
All proceeds will benefit the Nature Center’s playground project efforts. 

The fest is rain or shine. No park admission fee.

The family-friendly festival will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 3 on Main Street, rain or shine.

ANSONIA - The Cultural Commission's 11th annual Harvest Festival Saturday may have been held under cloudy skies, but gloomy weather didn't dampen scarecrow spirits.

Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo judged the contest entries created by Main Street merchants. 

My Sister's Place thrift store won first place with the multi-scarecrow creation below:

Ansonia resident Christine Boulay, left, and her daughter, Elsa Boulay created 'The Village People.' 

River Valley Baptist Church gained third-place honors with its pajama-clad Teddy bear scarecrow. The entry was called "Bedtime is Bible time."

Kids of all ages enjoyed The Roaming Railroad rides up and down Main Street.

The Cultural Commission raffled off gift baskets donated by city departments.
