CT Works Career Coach to return to Derby Public Library



DERBY - The American Job Search Career Coach will be back July 15 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Derby Public Library, 313 Elizabeth St.

The Career Coach provides free computer and Internet access for job related activities.

Shelton Library System slates Jedi Training at Derby-Shelton Rotary Club Pavilion

Jedi Training on July 24

Sessions from 1:30-1:50 p.m. and 2-2:20 p.m. 

SHELTON - Travel to a galaxy far, far away and learn to become a Jedi! 

The Masters of the Kessel Temple are ready to train new Padawan to become the next generation of Jedi. 

Training will be held at the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club Pavilion, 100 Canal St.

Beacon Falls Public Library to offers kids' activities at town's 150th celebration Sunday


The town's sesquicentennial celebration kickoff will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Beacon Hose Fire Company No. 1, 35 N. Main St., Beacon Falls.

Second Congregational Church in Derby gets new steeple


A new steeple was installed Saturday atop the Second Congregational Church, 136 Elizabeth St., Derby across from the historic Birmingham Green. 

The church was built in 1845 and in 1985 the wrath of Hurricane Gloria toppled the steeple. 


Seymour Public Library to hold painting class for kids via Zoom



SEYMOUR - Learn to paint a vivid tropical mermaid tail image onto a rectangular canvas at 6 p.m. July 14 online with Lindsey from Lindsey’s Craft Studio. 
Seymour Public Library will supply all the materials, and Lindsey will lead the class! Ages 8 and up.
All materials will be available for pickup one week prior to this program at the library.

Derby Neck Library hosts virtual children's music and movement program


DERBY - Come get your groove on with Miss Krissy at 11 a.m. every other Monday during a virtual music and movement program hosted by Derby Neck Library! 

This program is targeted for ages Birth-5, but all are welcome! 

There will be singing, dancing, stories, and a whole lot of shaky things!

Be sure to pick up a supply pack with scarves, tambourines, and shaker eggs via curbside pickup at the library.
