Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton to host talk on witch trials in CT


SHELTON - Join us [at Plumb Memorial Library] for a discussion on the Connecticut witch trials with historian Jason Scappaticci at  6 p.m. July 29.

There are few people who know that witch trials even took place outside of Salem. However, Connecticut led the way in the prosecution and execution of witches almost 50 years before the Salem Witch Trials began.

The Library is at 65 Wooster St.

Derby Public Library to host adventurer's multimedia lecture



DERBY - Join author Jeff Belanger at 6 p.m. June 28 at Derby Public Library to explore Africa's highest peak with a multimedia program and Q&A.

It's an honest and engaging account of one amateur hiker’s journey to spiritual transformation as he climbs 19,341 feet to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro - Africa’s highest peak.
After his brother-in-law Chris passed away, author Jeff Belanger made the decision to take the trip of a lifetime, both in honor of Chris and in pursuit of clarity about his own life and goals.
"The Call of Kilimanjaro" is a day-by-day record of Belanger’s ascent to the peak of Africa’s highest mountain.
Jeff Belanger is an author, podcaster, storyteller, adventurer, and explorer of the unexplained. He’s written more than a dozen books that have been published in six languages.

Paranormal investigator to speak at Seymour Public Library


SEYMOUR - Paranormal investigator Barry Pirro has investigated hundreds of haunted houses and historic sites and has been a consultant for paranormal TV shows. 

Join us at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Seymour Public Library as Barry discusses some of his most chilling cases of ghosts, demons, and haunted objects. Hear real ghost recordings and tell us your own haunting stories!

Derby Neck Library to host talk on financial exploitations
