Local author to read children's book at fall celebration Saturday in Seymour

The community is invited to a First Saturday Event Saturday (Oct. 7) from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Lizzie's Corner, 36 Bank St., Seymour.
Celebrate fall in downtown Seymour with refreshments and fun all day for all ages. 

The day includes "Happy HallowREAD" from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. when local author Anthony Paolucci reads at Lizzie's Corner from his children's book, "Ghost Story" to little kids, and another of his books to older kids and young adults.

Derby Public Library to host presentation by local author

DERBY - The Derby Public Library invites everyone to a special presentation by local 

author Steve Reilly as he discusses his new book, The Lord of the Infield Flies, at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10.

As a prequel to his prior book, The Fat Lady Never Sings, this book promises to thrill readers with Coach Reilly’s harrowing, challenging, and adventurous high-school-age baseball team’s four-hour trek from Connecticut to play Maine’s all-star team.  

This chaotic, funny, and uplifting story is a sure hit for all sports fans.  

Reilly, a practicing attorney, has coached high school baseball in the Lower Naugatuck Valley for the past 30 years and is in his 17th season at Seymour High School.  

Multiple copies of this newest book will be available for purchase.

Children's author to visit Derby Public Library

DERBY - The Derby Public Library, 313 Elizabeth St., welcomes local children’s author Jeannine Marie at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Join us for bagels and donuts while listening to Marie share her children’s picture book Looking in the Mirror.
This title is the first of her three publications geared for children ages 5-10.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase the day of the event or signed copies may be pre-ordered by contacting the Children’s Room.

Retired police chief to discuss book at Derby Public Library

DERBY - Retired Derby Police Chief turned author Andrew L. Cota, Jr. will hold a book signing at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Derby Public Library, 313 Elizabeth St.

Cota will discuss "Whitestone," a novel.

The public is invited to attend.

Cota's other book is "Through the Lens of an Old Man." He also drew the cover art for both books. 

Cota's love of art also includes wood carving, with his most notable work being the carving on the Sterling Opera House on Elizabeth Street.

Local author to discuss novel at Derby Public Library

DERBY - The Derby Public Library invites everyone to a local author visit at 6:30 p.m. May 23 when retired Derby

Police Chief Andy Cota, Jr. discusses his second book and first novel, Whitestone.

The story is about an individual named Alex who is headed

to the apex of his life when he starts to realize there is more to life than just living for today. 

When something outside of the norm occurs in his life, his experiences take him through a whirlwind of 

actions that teeter between all the possible realms of reality that exist. 

Andy called upon his broad array of life experiences and thoughts to write this fictional story.
